Kondapur is located 90-km north of Hyderabad . It comes under the district of Medak. It is known as the 'Texila of the South' and referred to as the 'town of mounds'. It has archaeological excavations dating back to 3000 B.C. Remains of vast Buddhist complex, industrial buildings, coins of gold, silver, copper and lead and gold of the Roman and Satcahana era have been excavated over the years. Some mounds are yet to be excavated. Sculptures in limestone and megalithic graves have been unearthed nearby.
