The Venkateswara Temple is a regularly
visited place of worship in Nizamabad.
The Flag of this temple is taken to
Tirupati soon
after the Dwajarohana ceremony and brought back after due prayers. When
arrived hundreds of devotees, who could not travel to the Seven Hills
redeem their vows to this Sacred Flag deeming it a sacred deputy of God.
This is a much-honoured tradition and is being carried on for ages.
The temple is fairly big and the icon of Venkateswara is Sthanaka -
standing posture and bears resemblance to Tirupathi Balaji. Janda Fair is
held for 15 days and this annual festival attract huge crowds.
