In Kurnool
district of Andhra Pradesh, there are some
ancient temples at a place like 'Prathama Nandi' and 'Krishna Nandi'. The
most important festival here is that of Krishna Nandi celebrated during
January-February. This shrine is one of the "Navanandis" in the
neighbourhood of Mahanandi and Nandyal.
The pilgrims numbering about 50,000 proceeding to Mahanandi from this
State as well as Mysore
and Maharashtra
States, visit this forest shrine during Mahashivaratri.
