Soan Fort is situated in Soan village lying on the banks of the Godavari River at a distance of about 12-km from Nirmal, in Adilabad district. The village derived its name from the fort, known as 'Soangadh', situated on a hillock on the eastern side of the road from Soan to Nirmal. The fort is in ruins now.
