Durgam Cheruvu (lake) is a unique lake
amidst prehistoric rocks, which is also known as 'Secret Lake'. It is
called secret lake, as it lies almost hidden amongst awesome rock
formations. It is located near the Shilparamam Crafts Village at Madhapur.
The state tourism department has recently developed this lake, which is
attracting picnickers on a vast scale.
Today,
a lot of visitors enjoy this ideal weekend getaway for a cool pedal
boating and water-scooter riding provided by the
Andhra Pradesh State Tourism Department.
It is also an ideal place for camping and trekking or just enjoying the
scenic beauty of the surroundings. The rocks here are much favoured by
rock climbers and adventurers. There is a cafeteria and refreshment centre
nearby too.
Air: The lake is situated 11-km
from the airport of Hyderabad.
Rail: The nearest railhead is the Hyderabad railway station.
Road: Autos and city buses are available from any point of the
city.
