Kambala Lake ('Kambhala Cheruvu' - 'Kambham
Vari Cheruvu') was dug during the construction of a choultry where death
ceremonies only take place. Mr.Kambham Narasingarao Pantulu between
1845-1850 constructed this choultry, which is unique, as it is the only
choultry in the country where only death ceremonies are held. Even in
Varansi
(Kashi) also one can't find a separate choultry that undertakes the
death ceremonies.
The water from different villages and other places join this lake. One can
find water in this lake in all the seasons. The Government converted this
lake into boating club & also the amusement park.
