Srirangapuram is situated at a distance of
24-km from Wanaparthi in Mahaboobnagar
district. The most important place of worship in the village is the shrine
of Ranganatha situated a furlong away from the village on an elevated
place surrounded practically on all sides by the waters of 'Rangasamudram'
Tank. People believe that the temple is as important as the one at
Srirangam in the South.
'Brahmotsavam'
celebrated for ten days from 'Phalguna Suddha Ashtami' to 'Bahula Vidiya'
(February-March) is the most important annual event at the place and on
this occasion about 25,000 devotees congregate from all over the Telangana
region as well as Kurnool. It is
one of the most important pilgrim centres in the district.
Road: Srirangapuram is 67-km from Kurnool and is well connected by road to Hyderabad , Kurnool, Anantapur and other districts of A.P.
