Ethipothala Waterfalls, a famous picnic
spot, 11 km. downstream from the Nagarjuna
Sagar dam are set in a beautiful valley. The Chandravankas stream
here plunges into a lagoon. The rising place of the river Chandra Vanka is
at Muthukuru, which is on eastern part of the Nallamala hills. The river
falls from a height of 70 feet before it joins the Tumurukota reserve
forest and this place is called "Ethipothala water falls"
finally joins the Krishna river.
Air: The nearest airport is in
Hyderabad at a
distance of 149-km.
Rail: The nearest railhead is Macherla, which is 29-km from
Nagarjuna Sagar.
Road: Tourists can find regular bus services from Hyderabad,
Warangal and
Vijayawada to Nagarjuna Sagar.
