Andhra Pradesh has a wide variety of wildlife and natural beauty. Endowed with a lush coastal belt, moist deciduous Eastern Ghats, dry deciduous forests of the Nallamalais, mangrove belt at Coringa, fauna of Andhra Pradesh is alive and well in the many wildlife sanctuaries here. Nehru Zoological Park is a natural habitat supporting ample bird and animal life. The Pakhal and Ethurnagaram wildlife sanctuaries near Warangal abound in Tiger, Panther, Wild Boar, Jackal Muntjack, Fox, Gaur, Wild Dog, Spotted Deer, Sloth Bear, apart from variety of water birds and reptiles. The dense foliage of Nallamalai forest at Srisailam in central Andhra Pradesh has a wildlife sanctuary that teems with animals, birds, and reptiles. India's largest project tiger reserve also lies over here. Kawal wildlife sanctuary is an abode of birds. The delta region of the Godavari has the Coringa sanctuary, which is reputed for reptiles like the salt-water crocodile, fishing cats and others. The Kolleru Bird Sanctuary is a haven for migratory birds.
