India's largest project tiger reserve also lies over here. Kawal wildlife sanctuary is an abode of birds. The delta region of the Godavari has the Coringa sanctuary, which is reputed for reptiles like the salt-water crocodile, fishing cats and others. The Kolleru Bird Sanctuary is a haven for migratory birds.
