Just
like the scenic beauty that surrounds the city of Bomdila,
there are Buddhist monasteries too, because this is area that has strong
Tibetan and Buddhist influences over the centuries. While checking out
these monasteries, do not forget to visit the craft center that produces
very fine carpets of colourful designs. But the monastery that holds the
eye of any traveler and Buddhist pilgrim is Tawang Gompa. The Tibetan
influence in this 400-yr-old is unmistakable.
