Arunachal Pradesh's forests are the only surviving rain forests in India and the only state, which has four major cats - Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard and the Golden Cat and Marbled Cat. There are more than 500 species of birds recorded from this state region, some of which are endangered and restricted to the state boundary only, including the White Winged Duck and the Sclater Monal Bangal Florian. Besides, there are seven species of primates that include Takin, which is found in Arunachal only.
