The Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport of Guwahati is well connected by air with the four major metropolitans New Delhi , Kolkatta (or Calcutta), Mumbai and Chennai . All the major airlines operate regular flights to Guwahati as well as to the other important towns in the state namely Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Tezpur, North Lakhimpur and Silchar.

headquarters of the North-Western Frontier Railway and hence well
connected with other parts of the country. Train services from broad and
metre-gauge to and from other parts of Assam and other states, originate
