Bhalukpung,
a beautiful picnic and angling spot was the capital of Bhaluka, the
grandson of King Bana. It is 6O-km from Tezpur
under the foot of Aka Hills situated in
Arunachal
Pradesh . Remains of old fortifications are still visible over here.
This picturesque spot lies on the way to Bomdila in
Arunachal
Pradesh .
Other attractions of Bhalukpung are a hot spring, a big orchid garden at
Tipi and the unspoilt beauty of nature. The nearest river Jia Bhoroli
fascinates the anglers. It is the natural habitat of the Golden Mahsheer,
the dream catch of angler. Besides, Masheer, one can catch other game
fishes like 'Boka', 'Sal' and occasionally the dreaded 'Gorua' - the fresh
water shark.
An angler can raft downstream on rubber boats. Angling is regulated by
Department of Forest, Wildlife, Assam,
strictly on 'Catch - Record - Release' basis.

Rail: The nearest railhead is situated at
Guwahati and the nearest railway station
is at Tezpur.
Road: Bhalukpung is 250-km from Guwahati
and 60-km from Tezpur and is well connected
with the two cities by road.
