The Gujarat State Handicrafts Corporation was established
for the sole purpose of developing, promoting, and marketing the exquisite
handicrafts for which the state of Gujarat has
always been renowned for since ancient times to the present day. The
marketing outlets of the corporation, located in the leading cities of
India are known as 'Gurjari'. They can be identified instantly by the
circular golden symbol representing a smiling sun surrounded by brilliant
rays of light. Apart from their outlets, Gurjari also or holds exhibitions
in other cities as well. 
EXQUISITE ARTIFACTS
Gurjari offers the best of wonderfully crafted furnishings, furniture,
textiles and jewellery, which would appeal to even the most discerning
buyer. The famous Sankheda wooden furniture is a Gurjari specialty. Also
available are storage boxes, small nutcrackers, metal jewellery, copper
bells, baked clay items and a host of other delightful items.
Intricate embroidered garments include skirts, blouses, kurtas and
jackets. A measure of the corporation's success is that sales have
increased tremendously and many artisans have become self-sufficient due
to the assistance they have received.
