Hotel Sarita is part of the Mandvi Mahal, a haveli of the
Mahida Rajputs dating form the late 19th century. The Mahidas ruled from
Mandvi, neighbouring Surat and came to Mandwa after Surat was taken over
by the historic Palias outside the main gate.

The highlight of the property is its proximity to the river Narmada. The
bathing ghats and temples of Chandod, Shilatirth, Nareshwar, etc. can be
easily visited from Chandod. Boating is a possible on the river as is
trekking in the ravines.
From Chandod, one can make trips to the princely town of Rajpipla, the
historic princely city of Vadodram the magnificent 12th century fortress
and temples of Dahoi and numerous places of religious importance. Chandod
is 55-kms from Vadodra.
