Skylark complex at Panipat came up in a 4 acre area in
seventies. It was and still is a highway destination. But for the
industrial houses of the famous handloom town, the complex offers
delightful tourist facilities and guest rooms. Special musical evenings
planned every once in a while have proved popular.
The town of Panipat came up in the Afghan era. Its importance as a
military base to protect Delhi, the Capital, was felt. This is in evidence
from the three historic battles that were fought here. Panipat was also
the home town of the famous poet Hali, whose grave can be seen in the
older section of the town. The tomb of Ibrahim Lodhi, the last of the
Afghan rulers, lies in a quiet area close to the complex. Another historic
site is Kala Amb.
