Fairs of Himachal present the exquisite picture of rich tradition, warm and hospitable people and the panoramic beauty of the state. In mid-February, a weeklong Winter Sports Festival is held in Manali with skiing competitions as the main attraction. Various Winter Carnivals are also held in cities of Shimla , Kullu , Kangra, Kufri, Narkanda and other hilly regions of the state. Another attraction is the Baba Barbhang Singh Mela, which is celebrated in Una in honour of the saint famous for his magical powers. The Shivratri Fair of Mandi is a week long fair when the local deities assemble to meet one another in an atmosphere full of fun and frolic. In Kullu District in the month of April, Dhoongri Fair of Manali around Hadimba Temple exhibit an intermix of traditional and modern practices. Shimla is the venue of the Summer Festival comprising of numerous musical events, fashion consumer fairs making it a shopper's paradise. Lavi Fair is the main significance of the town of Rampur and Minjar Fair in Chamba marks the good harvest season.
