Himachal Pradesh is well
connected by road with all the major cities of north and the rest of
India. National Highway No. 20, 21 and 22 also pass through the state.
Yet, the obvious way to approach the state is to head north from Delhi to
the state capital Shimla.
Some of the important entry point for Himachal are: Parwanoo with Kalka, Kala Amb with Ambala, Paonta Sahib with Dehradun , Swarghat with Ropar, Chandigarh , Chakki with Pathankot, Talwara with Mukerian, and Una with Hoshiarpur.
There are three Airports in Himachal Pradesh: Gaggal near Kangra, Jubbal near Shimla , and Bhuntar near Kullu . These airports are accessible only by regional level flights.
There are three ways to enter Himachal by train. First from Kalka,which is connected to Shimla , second is Nangal in Punjab, which is connected to Una and third is Pathankot, which is connected to Palampur upto Jogindernagar .
One can catch regular Deluxe / Semi Deluxe / Ordinary Bus services to and from Shimla to the other major cities in the state apart from important stations of North India such as Jaipur , Delhi , Chandigarh , Jalandhar, Gurgaon , Amritsar, Dehradun , Hardwar , Pathankot, and Ambala.
