Mumbai a cluster of
seven islands derives its name from "Mumbadevi", the patron
goddess of the Koli fisher folk, its oldest inhabitants. Mumbai, till
recently called Bombay, is the "Finance Capital of India" &
one of the finest metropolitan in the world. It is the one of the busiest

city has been a cultural capital of Maharashtra for centuries and is

institutions. Aurangabad
became popular because of the presence of the world famous caves Ajanta &
Ellora just few kilometres away from it. Once capital of an important
Maratha state is now one of the most prosperous regions of the state. It
is famous for the shrine of Mahalakshmi. The city Nagpur derives its name
from river Nag along which it is situated and it is placed in the centre
of in geographical terms. Nashik stands on the bank of Godavari River one
of the holiest rivers of the Deccan. Kumbh Mela held here in every 12
years attracts large number of devotees.
