Townhall garden is situated in the heart of
Kolhapur city. The garden covers an area of
about 7 to 8 acres full of old precious tropical and exotic trees, shrubs,
lawns, creepers and climbers.
In the year 1876 the construction of the Townhall building was completed.
In the year 1904 the Glasshouse was constructed and in the year 1927
Marble bust of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was installed. The
archaeological museum is an added attraction.
Kolhapur is well connected by air, rail and road with important places within and beyond the state. For local transportation auto-rickshaws, city buses and taxis are available.
