Situated on the banks of the river Godavari, Nanded is a sacred place for the Sikhs. Of the many Gurdwaras, the shrine of Guru Gobind Singh, known as Sachkhand Gurdwara, is particularly famous. Pune city too has many Gurdwaras. The Ganesh Peth Gurdwara is one of the oldest and biggest Gurdwaras in Pune. The other famous Gurdwaras in the city are the Dashmesh Darbar, Guru Nanak Darbar, Gurdwara Shri Gurusingh Sabha, Jai Jawan Nagar Gurdwara, Nagpur Chawl Gurdwara, Ramgodia Shivajinagar Gurdwara and the Sapras Gurdwara.
