Lying 6-km west of Nagpur, the Ambazari lake is the largest and the most beautiful and one of the well-managed places in the city of Nagpur.
The Ambazari garden is a beautiful garden located just
beside the lake and it has been developed as a model garden by the Nagpur
Municipal Corporation. It was established in 1958 on an area of 20 acres
of land. There are many items to entertain children too.
The musical fountain dances to the rhythm of music with different
lighting effects. The swinging Columbus boat, the mini train and the play
field fitted with lots of playground equipment are more than enough to
bind the tiny tots. The static model of the giant dinosaur at the entrance
gives a delightful shock to visitors.
The concept of 'Animal Kingdom' introduced by the Shreyance Machinery
Handlers creates a sensation among children when they play with the 12 ft.
high air-filled costumes of lion and teddy bear moving in the garden.
Thousands of people throng every Saturday and Sunday to
witness the aero-modeling show in the evening in which the remote
controlled seaplanes are seen landing on the water. The number of visitors
to this garden touches 3 to 4 thousand daily while it swells to nearly 10
to 15 thousand on Sundays and holidays.
The Ambazari Lake and gardens are an ideal place for picnics, and the
boating in the lake provided by Rajkamal Water Sports Centre adds to the
amusement of the visitors.
Nagpur is well connected by air, rail and road with the important places within and beyond the state. For local transportation city buses, taxis and auto rickshaws are available.
