The Venna Lake is a great attraction to everybody with its
dazzling sight, boating, facilities and stalls for games and eatables. It
is within walking distance from Mahabaleshwar town.
The lake is spread around 25 acres. The main purpose of this lake is to
supply water to Mahabaleshwar.

The Venna Lake has both boating and fishing facilities. To
go boating tourists can choose from paddleboats or rowboats, but prior
permission has to be obtained for fishing.
It is also the focal point for holiday's makers with attractions such as
horse riding, wayside stalls and attractive delicious strawberries. Horse
riding is a great attraction for the young and the old. Early morning
rides through the forests of Mahabaleshwar is an enchanting experience.
Horse stand is situated near S. T. bus stand and Venna lake. The Race
Course and Golf Course of Mahabaleshwar are situated near the lake.
Rail: Pune
is the normal departure point for Mahabaleshwar, although Satara Road is
the closest railway station.
Road: There is also an MTDC luxury bus daily that plies in either
direction between Mumbai
and Mahabaleshwar.
State Transport buses run from Pune and Mumbai.
