Although
Maharashtra has a distinctive Hindu flavour, it has
always had a tradition of secularism. Jewish communities, Mosques and
Dargahs, churches and Zoroastrian fire temples, all find the space to
function. The Bibi-ka-Maqbara located in
Aurangabad
is a replica of the famous Taj Mahal and is a fine piece of Mughal
architecture in the Deccan region. The other famous Dargah's in Aurangabad
include the Dargah of Baba Shah Muzaffar, Dargah of Sayeed Burhan-ud-din
and Dargah of Sayeed Zain-ud-din. Haji Ali mausoleum in Mumbai is very
famous and the mosque and tomb give the impression that they are floating
out at sea during high tide as the connecting causeway is submerged in
water. Sheikh Salla Dargah and Kamar Ali Darvesh Dargah are the most
familiar Dargah's in Pune. The Kamar Ali Darvesh Dargah is visited by
people belonging to all religions.
