Alandi is a small village located 22-km away from
Pune , on the banks
of the river Indrayani, which is one of the important pilgrim centres of
Maharashtra. Alandi houses the 'samadhi' of Sant
Dnyaneshwar's who is the author of "Dnyaneshwari" He lived in
Alandi and attained samadhi at a tender age of 21.
Other places worth visiting are Siddhabet in Indrayani and Temple of
Vithoba-Rakhumai. Annually two melas (fairs) are held on Ashadhi and
Kartiki Ekadashi, the eleventh days of Ashadh and Kartik (Hindu months).
During this time devotees sing 'bhajans' and 'kirtans' in praise of the
Lord all night.

Road: Pune being an important city of Maharashtra
is well connected with all the places in the state and other parts of the
country. Alandi being just 22 kilometres away from Pune is easily
accessible by road. Regular bus services are available from Swargate and
Shivaajinagar bus stations in Pune
Accommodation is available at the Dharmashalas in Alandi. The Pandits at the place also let out rooms to devotees who want to stay overnight.
