The Tadoba
National Park is the oldest Park in the state of Maharashtra
and is also a Project Tiger reserve, since 1993. It is a compact 120-sq-km
park, perched at an altitude of 200m and is placed 100-km south of
Nagpur and 45-km north of the district
headquarter and industrial town of Chandrapur. A haven for wildlife
enthusiasts, Tadoba is also referred to as "The Jewel of Vidarbha".
The Jungle Safari Tour is one among the attractions of the park,
attracting large number of tourists. Visitors should firstly book for
their Jungle Safari Tour. A 12-seater minibus is also available at Tadoba
for jungle safari for the convenience of the visitors.
Note: Two and Three Wheelers are not permitted in
the park.
Timings: 6.00 am to 11.00 am and 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm
Closed On: Tuesdays
Necessary Items: Binoculars for better viewing and Camera.
Air: Nearest airport is Nagpur,
158-km away from the park.
Rail: Nearest railhead is Chandrapur, 45-km away from the park.
Road: The nearest town is Chandrapur. State-run and private
transport buses too, can take one to/from Nagpur.
Accommodation is available at the rest houses in the Park.
