The Navegaon
National Park located in Navegoan in Gondia is one of the most
popular forest resorts in the Vidarbha region. The Park is spread over an
area of 135-sq-km. It consists of a deer park, an aviary and three
beautifully landscaped gardens.
Visitors can join the Jungle Safari and enjoy sighting the Tiger,
Panther, Sambar, Chital, Langurs and more. Staying in a unique treetop
house and riding a power or sailboat on the lake, are the other thrilling
pastimes that the park offers.
Best Time To Visit: April To May
Entry timings: 4.00 am to 7.00 pm. During the rest hour's entry in
the national park is strictly prohibited.
Weather: Temperatures are pleasant all year round.
Air: Nearest airport is at Nagpur,
142-km away from the park.
Rail: Deulgaon on Chandrapur-Gondia railway line is the nearest
railway station, 2- km away from the park.
Road: The nearest bus stand is Navegaon 10-km away from the park.
One can stay at the Rest Houses or Youth Hostel in Gondia. MTDC has a good network in Maharashtra and for the visitors to this place, apart from the regular suites and cottages, it also offers an unique tree top retreat with two suites and reservations for the same could be done at the MTDC regional office, Nagpur.
