Thoseghar near Satara is a clam
and quite newly developing picnic spot. It is very famous for it's high
Waterfalls. Thoseghar is really a wonderful place where one can enjoy the
beauty of the nature. These Waterfalls are very attractive and create a
loud noise in the calm nature. The best season to visit Thoseghar is
between July to November.
The region is hilly, with dark woods and a clean lake nearby. All these
attract tourists and so Thoseghar has become a famous picnic spot these
days. One can enjoy various small waterfalls here which are about 15-20
meters high and one of around 500 meters high. Tourists visiting here walk
down the slippery falls and have a good time with the splashing waters.
Rail: Satara has a railway Station, well connected
with all the major cities in the state.
Road: Satara is on the
Pune - Bangalore
Highway and is about 115-km from Pune. There are frequent bus services
from Pune and it takes about three hours drive to reach Satara. From
Satara tourists can hire a taxi to reach Thoseghar.
