For
a cultural insight of Sikkim there is better place
to visit than the monasteries in the state. If Pemayangtse is the oldest
monastery of the state, then Rumtek is known as the seat of Kayug-pa sect;
if Tashiding is known for its famous Bhumchu
festival celebrations then Dubdi monastery is an ideal place for
lamas seeking meditational recluse. Enchey is another 200-year-old
monastery and is considered an important seat of Nyingma order.
