Tucked
away in a corner of the northeast, surrounded by Bangladesh on three
sides, the lush green mountains, forests and valleys of the hilly state of
Tripura have attracted many different peoples over the centuries. In terms
of sightseeing, Tripura offers temples, scenic beauty and cultures. There
are rock-cut religious sculptures at Unakoti, and images carved in the
hills at Deotmara. For vacationing in hills check out the Jampui Hills,
noted for its climate and oranges. Do not leave without collecting some
remarkable bamboo handicrafts and textiles as souvenirs from the state.
