Adventure in Uttranchal-an irresistible experience
The display of the mighty snow capped peaks, glaciers, pine forested
slopes, rivers and lush green prairie of wild flowers are just ideal for
taking up any kind of adventure sports in the hilly zone of India. The
state of Uttranchal has it all, adorned with green attire of meadows and
fragrant with aromatic orchards and flowers.
Uttranchal region is extended from the mighty Himalayas in the north to
the green foothills of Haridwar and Rishikesh in the south, also a home to
wildlife adventure and winter sports.
Almora, Nanital, Ranikhet are the ideal trekking centers of Kumaon
region. Trekking through pine and rhododendron forests with dramatic views
of mighty, snowcapped mountains is an ideal gateway to reach the Pindiri
Glacier and the valley of Someshwar. Mainly Nanital- a captivating,
orchard-rich hill station is the base for short treks to Bhimtal,
Khurpatal and Binayak Forest.
Mussoorie, another hill station with its panoramic splendor also makes an
excellent base for trekking into the Gangotri and Yammounotri valleys. The

The pristine blue rivers of Rishikesh and Haridwar have much scope for
sports like white water rating, kayaking, boating, yachting and much more.
Trekking through these two holy cities leads to another holy shrine,
Badrinath. A particularly rewarding stop en route to Badrinath is the
awesome Valley of Flowers, which is in full bloom in August. Other
destinations include Hemkund Lake, Mandakini Valley and Kedarnath, one of
the twelve Jyotirlings of Lord Shiva.
